Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

This page lists every cookie Forgelo uses, what each one is for, and how long it sticks around. It covers forgelo.com and the Forgelo app.

The short version: the cookies needed to run the site are always on, and nothing else loads until you say yes.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser so it can remember something between page loads, such as the fact that you are signed in. Some other technologies do much the same job, like local storage and tracking pixels. When we say cookies on this page, we mean all of them.

How we ask

The first time you visit, you get a banner with three options: accept all, reject all, or customise. Reject is the same size and in the same place as accept, because a consent choice that is hard to refuse is not a real choice.

Nothing in the analytics or marketing category loads before you choose. If you reject, the scripts are never downloaded at all, so there is nothing to opt out of afterwards.

We store your choice in a cookie for 180 days, then ask again. You can change it before that from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Strictly necessary (always on)

These make the site work. You cannot turn them off, and we do not need your consent for them because the service does not function without them.

Analytics (off until you allow it)

These tell us which pages people read and where they get stuck, so we know what to fix. They do not follow you around the internet, and we do not use them to advertise to you.

Marketing (off until you allow it)

These measure whether our ads actually bring people who go on to build a site, and they let the ad platforms show Forgelo to people like you. Under California law, allowing these counts as "sharing" personal information for cross context behavioural advertising.

Consent Mode and Global Privacy Control

We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Before any Google tag can load, we set analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization to denied. They only flip to granted for the categories you have allowed.

We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat that as you opting out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, and the marketing category stays off no matter what the buttons say. You do not have to do anything else.

Cookies on the sites you publish

The websites you build with Forgelo are yours, and so is anything you add to them. If you add your own analytics, an embedded video, a chat widget, or an ad pixel to your published site, then those cookies are your responsibility, and you need your own cookie notice and consent on that site. Forgelo does not add tracking cookies to the sites you publish.

Turning cookies off in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Be aware that if you block the strictly necessary ones, you will not be able to stay signed in to Forgelo.

Changes to this policy

If we add a vendor or a new category of cookie, we will update this page and ask for your consent again before anything new runs.
