Forgelo sites can send lead form submissions and contact buttons straight to WhatsApp. For many businesses, especially in Indonesia, this converts far better than email forms because the conversation starts where customers already are.
Setting your WhatsApp number
The cleanest way is to include your number in your prompt when you generate or edit:
"Connect all contact buttons and the lead form to WhatsApp 62812xxxxxxx."
Use international format, digits only: country code plus number, no plus sign, no spaces. For Indonesia that means starting with 62, not 0.
Watch out for the placeholder number
If you generate a site without giving a real number, the AI uses an example number. Forgelo warns you about this at publish time, but the publish is not blocked. Replace the placeholder before you share your site, otherwise customer chats will silently go to a number that is not yours.
To fix it, send an edit prompt: "Replace every WhatsApp number on the site with 62812xxxxxxx."
What visitors experience
When a visitor taps a WhatsApp button or submits the lead form, WhatsApp opens with your number and a pre-filled message. On phones it opens the app directly; on desktop it opens WhatsApp Web. You reply from your normal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, no extra inbox to manage.
Tips
- Use a WhatsApp Business number so you can set a business profile, greeting message, and quick replies.
- Put the WhatsApp CTA in the hero section as well as the contact section. Ask for it in a prompt if it is not there.
